Help Installing CD-Rewriter

I have a pillips CD-Rewriter. I Have installed it and all the software on the disk that came with it. But it still wont work and the icon in the bottom taskbar has a big red circle and slash and says no supported driver. Someone please help. I am :?

Does the light turn on when you stick in a CD? If not, its possibly not hooked up correctly. Check your BIOS to see if its in there. What is the icon in the taskbar that you are talking about? IF you are more specific it will be easier to help. Let us know what you find. Thanks.
