My wife has a gateway 2500 solo laptop,came with win/95,pentium 2,333 processor,64 megs of memory,6.0 gig harddrive, I recently upgraded the memory to 288,wiped the harddrive, and installed winxp pro,along with software that she had been using before,everything is fine, but now I've noticed if the machine is not plugged into a outlet,It will not power up at all.
If its plugged into a outlet,it powers up just fine, the battery indicator shows as being charged 100%, could there be something in the bios that I need to adjust?,or in wiping the harddrive,did I erase the ability to operate on battery independently of electric current?,the machine otherwise is working fine.
