Hello, I just bought a new motherboard thinking my old one was broken, which was why my computer wouldn't turn on, no, it still doesn't turn on, could this be an indication of my CPU being a pile of crap??? I tested my Power supply (400w) and it works. Help me.

Did you buy a new mobo and cpu? Or just the mobo? If just the mobo, did you check to make sure your old cpu is compatible with the mobo you purchased?
I know this is a bumb question, but sometimes it just needs to be asked, and I am in no way implying anything.

Dual processor is useless unless you have software that was written to utilize the second cpu. There isn't many of those out there.

yeah, thats what all my friends told me, im just going to sell my extra cpu. And ABIT tech support told me to try my motherboard with different ram, that shouldn't make a difference should it, i should still be able to make it to bios with out working ram.

I am not sure if you need ram to get to the bios.
Although, I have a last question. Do you have more than one ram stick on the board? If so maybe one of them is bad and is causing the problem. Only put one in and see if that works. If not try the other.
It would be unlikely both sticks would be bad, but it has happened. So if you have a ram stick you know is good try it in the board and see what happens.

Here is the bare minimum you need to post a board.
You need the following in order to have the board post, CPU with Heatsink/Fan installed, RAM, Video Card, and of course power. Without the above, it will not even turn on.
