i bought a Diamond Stealth III 32 mg pci video card the other day. i put it in my computer and it won't recognize it... my guess is, is that since my computer has an agp slot, the computer wants to automatically look for a video card there.... is there anyway to change this default?

You should get an AGP video card. PCI has a bus of 33mhz while AGP is 66MHZ. Plus AGP has many more improvements for video over PCI. AGP is alone on its data bus. PCI devices need to share their bus with other PCI devices. Imagine that the PCI bus has a maximum bandwith of 132mbps. Thats good for a video card, but if you have a modem and another card, those cards need that also.
Here are is a list of AGP types and their thru-puts
AGP 1x 66mhz 264mbps
AGP 2x 66mhz 528mbps
AGP 4x 66mhz 1056mbps
AGP 8x 66mhz 4224mbps (64-bit)
As far as your card not working, if you really want it to work in a PCI slot, I'm not sure what to do. It should recognize the card after you reboot. Is it anywhere in the device manager?
