Well, that's probably your problem right there. Don't use Fdisk. Fdisk is best used for MS operating systems. Here's what you need to do:

First, make sure you have at least a gig of unpartitioned space on your hard drive. You will be building at least a few different partitions so you can use multiple hard drives if needed. (You can probably get away with less than a gig if you have to).

Now boot up with your linux Cd and follow the directions. It's really easier than it looks.
